11th annual Ferndale Citywide Cleanup Day is coming up

A month earlier than in years past, this Saturday, April 21st, is the date for this year’s annual Ferndale Citywide Clean Up Day. If you have been putting off cleaning out your backyard, garage or overflowing storage unit, this will be the day to do it.

Whatcom Educational Credit Union will be sponsoring a paper shredding service available for free disposal of personal papers and confidential documents. In addition, disposal of appliances, furniture, yard debris, electronics and metal is free. Bring items to be disposed to the parking lot behind Ferndale City Hall, located at 2095 Main Street, between 9am and 1pm.

Ferndale Downtown Association and the City of Ferndale co-host this annual event that also includes volunteer opportunities. Volunteers help with litter pickup, weeding and other tasks in areas in public right of ways in the downtown area. If you or your group or business wants to volunteer, simply meet up at City Hall at 9am for assignments. Volunteers are advised to wear clothes they are comfortable getting dirty.
