While thousands in the Ferndale area who lost power during Friday’s ice storm have seen their power restored, Puget Sound Energy (PSE) reports some of the 250 Ferndale area customers still without power will have gone 48 hours without power today.

Most of those still impacted are scattered around the west and north Ferndale outlying areas but 13 along Portal Way, east of I-5, are also without power according to PSE.

At one point Friday, PSE reported over 45,000 of their customers without power with the great majority being in Whatcom County.

During such widespread outages, PSE often will refrain from giving estimates and such was the case this weekend as crews were busy clearing fallen power lines, poles and trees.

Yesterday, PSE applied a blanket estimate of January 1, 2018 at 11pm for restoring power to most remaining outages in Whatcom County, including those in the Ferndale area.
