Video taken during the opening of the 2018 Olde Fashioned Christmas at Pioneer Park (November 30, 2018). Video courtesy of Bruce Mooney. Santa and Mrs Claus were the guests of honor at the opening of the 26th annual Olde Fashioned Christmas at Pioneer Park last night. The restored pioneer log cabins are decorated inside and out and staffed by volunteers in festive pioneer attire. There are hands-on crafts and games for everyone including writing letters to Santa in the schoolhouse and mailing them in the pioneer post office. The General Store is open and stocked with old-fashioned Christmas gifts available for purchase. New this year are the cement pathways between the cabins making access much easier than in past years. The Ferndale Heritage Society’s celebration of the Christmas season continues today from 1pm to 9pm and Sunday 1pm to 5pm.
