It was a year ago, nearly to the day, Graveline Road fell victim to flooding that resulted from locally heavy rainfall. Silver Creek flooding undermined the road and damaged a pipe according to Whatcom County Public Works officials. Now it looks like the road could reopen mid-August of 2019, at the earliest.

This week a Public Works official said they are ready to do repairs but are required to wait until after the risk of harming wildlife in Silver Creek has passed, July 15th at the earliest. The window to perform the work closes after October 15th. Creek levels can also impact the project schedule the official noted.
Once the project begins, it is expected to take approximately a month to complete the work and reopen the road.
