The Ferndale School District announced that its Facilities Advisory Committee (FAC) recommends the Ferndale School Board consider making renovations of Ferndale High School instead of a complete rebuild. This option would cost less than the levy to rebuild the high school which was recently rejected by voters. The recommendation was presented during the February 24 regular monthly board meeting.
According to the announcement, school board members will consider the recommendation during the board’s study session on March 16. Depending on the outcome the matter may be scheduled for consideration at the March or April regular board meetings.
In the meantime, a Community Design Forum has been set for March 4 to communicate the renovation design information and get input and feedback from the community.
