The bear thought to have been the same one seen meandering around the Lummi Peninsula and Lummi Island during the last half of May has been captured on Orcas Island.

According to a post on Orcas Issues News & Views by┬áSan Juan County Sheriff Ron Krebs, “He [the bear] was taken off island last night and relocated this morning in Eastern Skagit County near the Marblemount area.” Krebs pointed out, “During his entire visit to the beautiful San Juans, the bear was not aggressive and enjoyed a steady diet of bird seed, garbage, and BBQ drippings from the grease traps on the backside of most BBQs.”
