Business: Brandt achieves Certified Financial Planner certification

Monisha M. Brandt, of the Ferndale office of financial services firm Edward Jones, has earned the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards designation of Certified Financial Planner (CFPĀ®).

According to an Edward Jones news release, Brandt successfully completed the CFP Board’s initial certification requirements, which include completion of financial planning coursework and passing a comprehensive examination.

Coursework includes the financial planning process, risk management, investments, tax planning and management, retirement and employee benefits and estate planning.

Individuals who hold CFPĀ® certification must agree to meet ongoing continuing education requirements and uphold the CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility and Financial Planning Practice Standards.

Brandt has been a financial advisor for 16 years, serving investors in Whatcom County for the past 13 years.
