Car destroyed by fire in Ferndale business parking lot

A 4-door sedan was destroyed after catching fire in the parking lot of the Whatcom Educational Credit Union (WECU) Ferndale branch today.

Shortly after noon, Whatcom County Fire District 7 firefighters were dispatched to a report of a car fire in the WECU parking lot. They reported the car was fully involved when they arrived.

The car was parked along the east side of the parking lot away from any other vehicles.

No injuries were reported but the vehicle was considered a total loss. No cause had been given as of the time of this story.

  1. Am pretty proud to say that all 3 of the firefighters on this blaze were female! Ferndale leads the state in active female firefighters and they are awesome!
