Car vs pole on Grandview Road – no power outage reported

Aid and law enforcement were dispatched to the 1700 block of Grandview Road today about 12:45pm regarding a report of a car versus power pole crash.

According to radio transmissions from first responders at the scene, a Honda Civic had sustained major front end damage.

According to Whatcom County Fire District 7 Fire Chief Larry Hoffman, the driver was treated at the scene and released.

Puget Sound Energy crews were dispatched to the scene but there was no report of a power outage in the area. Hoffman said the power line involved led to one residence adjacent to the crash.

About 1:30pm, while still at the crash scene, WCFD7 aid crews were called back to the Grandview fire station at Grandview Road and Enterprise Road, about 1,000 feet from the crash scene. Hoffman said a patient with a medical emergency had been driven to the station. That patient was transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center in non-critical condition.
