The Stage 1 burn ban continues for now but may be lifted at 8am on October 1st.

This pattern is expected to continue due to an atmospheric river pointed toward the Pacific Northwest from out in the Pacific Ocean.
Southerly winds that had brought wildfire smoke into the area began carrying cleaner air.
Some improvement is expected over the next few days.
The short-term weather forecast is for mostly light winds from the south and no significant precipitation.
Western Washington residents are warned to expect conditions worsen as calmer winds will allow smoke to settle closer to the ground.
Winds are then expected to shift Friday which will bring smoke from the south into western Washington.
Ferndale has a permanent burn ban on all outdoor fires except for recreation fires but now those are also banned.
