City of Ferndale Mayor Jon Mutchler and City Administrator Jori Burnett are expected to make a presentation about the city’s interest in potentially using the Old Main building on the Ferndale High School campus during a school district meeting tomorrow.

Old Main and much of the Ferndale High School campus are slated to be replaced by new construction following voter approval of a $112-million school bond issue.

The presentation is the only item on the agenda for first official meeting of the Bond Oversight Committee since being formally recognized by the school board during the board’s March 26th meeting.

According to the committee’s agenda sent out this afternoon, committee members will engage in a question and answer session with city staff following the presentation. Ferndale School Board directors are expected to attend the meeting.

District spokesperson Erin Vincent said in an email the School Board would make the ultimate decision of whether to accept any offer from the city adding, “The committee will review, advise and provide oversight.”

The Bond Oversight Committee meeting is scheduled for tomorrow in the Ferndale High School Library (located in the Old Main building) at 7pm.
