According to the Whatcom County Public Works website:
The project will add left hand turn lanes at Imhof Road and Ferndale Road, as well as widen Slater Road between the two intersections. Illumination and drainage upgrades will also be constructed.
The project is anticipated to take 12 weeks, weather permitting. One lane flagged traffic will be in place.
The last update is that construction was expected to begin “in late spring 2015.”
In the meantime, painting of the Slater Road bridge over the Nooksack River was scheduled to begin last Tuesday, May 26.
there may be approximately 3 weeks in which the bridge must be reduced to 1 lane, both day and night, with a traffic control signal at both ends for painting of the portal and sway frames. Delays during these lane closures should be expected but every effort will be made to keep the delays as short as possible.
This project is expected to be completed “in September of 2015.”
