First responders were dispatched just before 2pm today to the report of a two-car crash at W Axton Road and Northwest Drive.
According to a witness, a GMC Yukon SUV failed to stop at the 4-way signed intersection and T-boned a small yellow Toyota pickup traveling westbound. Both vehicles end up off the roadway south of the intersection and west of Northwest Drive. The stop sign for eastbound traffic was sheared off at the ground during the crash.
According to Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Boyko, medics transported an adult male patient ALS (advanced life support) to PeaceHealth St Joseph’s Medical Center. The driver and a passenger in the other vehicle reported being uninjured.
