Candidate’s submitted biography (unedited):

As a concerned citizen, I have watched our elected officials govern with the special interest in mind. They have embraced an agenda that is affecting the growth of our county. I believe it is the obligation of the county council to represent All residents, ALL businesses, and ALL organizations that call Whatcom County home.

We need someone with an open mind to find solutions to the challenges we face in our county. It is possible to protect our environment while still making it possible for businesses of all kinds to thrive. Instead of building barriers between the council and business, we need to build a lasting partnership.

Besides being in the environmental business for over 25 years, I have volunteered my service with several organizations. In Whatcom County, I have served with the Boy Scouts of America in many leadership positions. I have also served on the board of directors for Whatcom Family Community Network as a treasurer and president. I am a strong believer in servant leadership and I strive to give back to my community.

The Pacific Northwest is a beautiful place to live and I am blessed to call it home. I am a father of nine and I have four grandchildren. I want to make sure that they live in a community that fosters growth while protecting the beauty we live in. I vow to serve all residents of Whatcom County.
