The Ferndale School District announced today they hired Ferndale High School (FHS) Assistant Principal Jeremy Vincent to replace outgoing Principal Jeff Gardner.
Gardener announced in May he would be leaving at the end of the school year to take a position as principal of Auburn High School. Gardner took over as FHS principal, replacing Aaron Kombol, for the 2015-16 school year.
At the time of Gardner’s announcement, the District announced an aggressive schedule of benchmarks in the search for his replacement, culminating with a selection being made mid-June.
According to the District, Vincent received his principal certification from Western Washington University, Master’s of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Eastern Washington University and Bachelor’s of Arts in Education from Northwest University. He earned his National Board Certification in 2012.
Vincent will assume the position of Principal effective July 1st.
The public is invited to a community meet and greet for Vincent to be held Monday, June 26th from 6pm to 7pm at the FHS library.
The district said they will open the application process to fill the assistant principal position at the high school this week.
The District also announced they recently filled other key positions as well. They are Jamie Plenkovich (also FHS head football coach) as the District’s director of maintenance and Joel Francik (formerly with Richland School District) as Vista Middle School assistant principal.
