Electrical problem forced grocery store to temporarily close

Shoppers found themselves in a dark store twice today while an elusive electrical problem was causing staff grief at the Ferndale Grocery Outlet.

Co-owner Elizabeth Brown said the store had gone dark 3 times. Once at midnight and then again while shoppers were in the store this morning and this afternoon. It was decided to close the store this afternoon until they could determine the cause.

Brown said an electrician located a water leak that appeared to be causing the problem. They fixed the leak and are hoping the problem has been permanently solved.

Brown wanted the community to know they were open for business again.
