Units from Whatcom County Fire District 7 (WCFD7) units responded about 9:45am today to a report of a semi truck trailer that had a collision with a fuel pump island at the Pilot Travel Center at the intersection of Barrett Road and Main Street.
According to WCFD7 Division Chief Ben Boyko, a trailer being pulled by a semi truck collided with a bollard in place to protect the pumps. The bollard did its job and the trailer never made contact with the pump. Only the trailer sustained damage.
The pump was turned off while the driver and a tow truck operator from Heston Hauling worked to maneuver the trailer off the bollard and away from the pump island.
