Ferndale 12U Cal Ripken team is 3-1 in World Series after final pool play game

The following was submitted to Discover Ferndale by Ferndale 12U Cal Ripken Team Manager Bill Hatchett:

The fourth and final pool play game was canceled last night due to rain and lightning, so Ferndale played the game today at noon ET, beating Clemmons, North Carolina, the Southeast region champion, 10 to 4 in six innings. That makes Ferndale’s pool play record 3 wins and 1 loss, giving us the second seed in the Americans pool.

Isaiah Karlsson was the starting and winning pitcher in the game versus Clemmons. He threw 2 1/3 inning giving up no hits and only one run. Jacob Mason, Andrew James, and Giovanni Contreras all pitched in relief, only giving up a combined four hits.

Offensively, Ferndale had 17 total hits, three of them homeruns. Isaiah Carlson, Dylan Strom, and Jordan Mason each hit a homerun in the game.
