Ferndale businesswomen are finalists for Professional Women of the Year award

Ludeman Capital Management, Inc. (LCM) President Heidi Ludeman and Alcoa Reliability Superintendent Chantee Ziemkowski are 2 of 6 professionals recently named as finalists for 2018 Professional Woman of the Year by Whatcom Women in Business.

Ludeman became President of LCM in January 2014.  Prior to joining LCM, she worked for Russell Investments in Seattle-Tacoma and Pacific West Financial Group in Renton. She has bachelor’s degrees in business administration and Norwegian from Pacific Lutheran University.

Ludeman Capital Management is located in Ferndale at 1855 Main Street, Suite 103. According to the company, they specialize in wealth management, custom financial planning and asset management solutions.

Ziemkowski was with CH2M Hill and ExxonMobile before that prior to accepting the position at Alcoa-Intalco Works in 2016 according to her LinkedIn profile. She has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from University of Washington.

Alcoa-Intalco Works is located at 4050 Mountain View Road. Intalco Works is a smelter that converts alumina ore into aluminum metal. It began operating in 1966 and employs over 500 workers.

The winner of this year’s award will be announced during a fundraiser banquet in Bellingham on October 23rd.

Carolyn Saletto, owner of Gym Star Sports Center in Ferndale, was named the 2014 Professional Woman of the Year.

Whatcom Women in Business was established in 1978. Leadership, professionalism, mentorship and community involvement are considered when selecting award finalists.
