Ferndale City Council agenda items explained

The following letter to members of the Ferndale City Council is provided courtesy of Ferndale City Administrator Jori Burnett. It is regarding the Ferndale City Council meeting agenda for the regular meeting scheduled for 5pm, Monday, April 20th (note the time change, past meetings have been held at 6pm).

This regular City Council meeting will be held using an online video conference format in conformance with current social distancing and the state’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” mandates.

Anyone wanting to watch the online meeting live can click this link just prior to or during the meeting. Nothing needs to be installed since attendees can choose to “watch on the web” via their browser and “join” the video conference anonymously. Attendees’ video and audio inputs will be disabled to prevent meeting disruptions while attendees will still be able to view and hear the meeting participants.

Under the new format, the 3-minute-each public comment period is being replaced with submissions provided before the meeting. Submissions are to be sent to City Clerk Susan Duncan via email to susanduncan@cityofferndale.org before 4pm the day of the meeting in order to be included in the meeting record. City staff say those submissions will be included in the meeting record but it is not certain whether they will be included with the other meeting documents or read into the record.
