Ferndale Community Services Cooperative continues aiding those impacted by COVID-19 economic crisis

FERNDALE, Wash. — The economic crisis resulting from health safety mandates in response to the COVID-19 pandemic has not improved for many and become worse for others since the Ferndale Community Services Cooperative created the Ferndale Community Utilities Fund back in May.

As of September 11th, officials with the Cooperative say they have used the fund to assist in paying 52 city utility bills.

Cooperative Board member Leela Hollcroft said they are still able to help community members in need. “Perhaps people who did not need our assistance earlier have found themselves in need now. We want them to know we are still able to help,” Hollcroft said.

The fund is available to households needing assistance in paying their City of Ferndale utilities bills due to financial impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic. Click here for more details and instructions for how to apply (application is near the bottom of the page).
