Hundreds of local needy children will enjoy a happy holiday thanks to the Ferndale Holiday Giving Store.

The Holiday Giving Store program, a service of Ferndale Community Service Cooperative, began in 2003 to brighten the holidays for children of low-income families. Working with the Ferndale School District, the program enables needy families to register to shop for free gifts. They select gifts to take home to share with their children during the holidays.

Items to be donated should be unwrapped and left in Holiday Giving Store drop-off boxes at the locations listed below. Donations will be accepted through Monday, December 17th.

* Whatcom Education Credit Union
* Ferndale Grocery Outlet
* North Coast Credit Union
* Ferndale Woods Coffee
* The Locker Room
* Ferndale City Hall
