UPDATED: Ferndale Memorial Day event at Allied Veterans Memorial to be viewable live

Allied Veterans Memorial

FERNDALE, Wash. — The Allied Veterans Memorial, located in Greenacres Memorial Park, will be the scene of a Memorial Day event at noon on Monday, May 25th, that will be broadcast live by My Ferndale News.

The program for the event entitled, “Honoring those who never came home” is as follows.


The event begins at noon with the raising of the flag with the Pledge of Allegiance followed by the Star-Spangled Banner.

There will be an invocation by Lonnie Rose followed by America the Beautiful.

There will be a recognition of the wreaths placed at the Allied Veterans Memorial.

  • Whatcom Allied Veterans Council

Presentation by Gene Goldsmith, Vietnam Veteran, Commander of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 19 and President of Whatcom Allied Veterans Council followed by God Bless America.

Benediction by Lonnie Rose, Vietnam Veteran, Commander of Lynden VFW Post 9301 and Chaplain of Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 165.

Music by Larry and Susan Murray, Bonnie Ledray and Gene Goldsmith.


The program is expected not to go beyond 30 minutes.

Those attending in person will be encouraged to practice social distancing and wear face masks. The live and recorded broadcast video is being provided for those choosing not to attend during current concerns over the COVID-19 disease pandemic.

My Ferndale News will provide a live video feed from the event that is viewable below. A recorded version will be available in its place following the event.
