Ferndale Police Department (FPD) officers were dispatched 1002 times (including 321 traffic stops) and filed a total of 202 incident reports during the month of August.

Reports included 6 reports of suspicious circumstances, 13 reported thefts, 29 traffic violations, 4 vehicle prowls, 4 reports of malicious mischief, 10 warrant arrests, 8 welfare checks, 2 reported hit and run crashes and 10 false alarms.

Police sometimes respond to calls that do not require filing a incident report (e.g. when a reported situation has resolved itself or a suspect is gone when they arrive). An incident report is not an indication a crime has been committed or that anyone has been or will be charged or cited.

  1. It was great to see FPD nailing speeders on Malloy Ave today.

We have 25 MPH zones for a very good reason – the lives of children are more important than some idiot’s need to save a few seconds on their drive to/from work.

For Crom’s Sake, SLOW DOWN, WILL YOU?

Thank you FPD, keep up the good work!

  2. UPDATE

I was with a friend today while she was driving down Church Road, near Aldergrove, at a few MPH over the limit. A fellow citizen in a red Chevy was tailgating her, weaving back and forth, threatening everyone around him. When she turned, he gunned his engine, leaned on his horn and went speeding along on his merry way. (With luck FPD was around the bend).

Why is it that otherwise rational people turn into reckless idiots when behind the wheel of a car? Riddle me that, Batman.
