Ferndale Taco Bell location project begins with demolition of former Denny’s restaurant

Work began this week to demolish the former Denny’s restaurant location at 5720 Barrett Road. Planned to take it’s place is a new Taco Bell restaurant building.

Once the site has been cleared, work will begin on a 2700-square-foot Taco Bell building. According to architectural drawings submitted to the City of Ferndale, there will be an inside dining area for over 50 people and a drive-through window.

Commercial building permits were applied for by GPD Group, on behalf of Northwest Restaurants, Inc. According to their website, Northwest Restaurants, Inc. is one of the largest franchisees in the Yum! Brands family with 150 restaurants. Their stores are located in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, North Carolina, South Carolina and Utah. Their primary brands are KFC and Taco Bell, but they also own stores under Pizza Hut, A&W and Long John Silver’s brand names.

A person familiar with the project said it would likely take 3 months to complete, weather permitting.
