Ferndale Downtown Association members and interested prospective members are invited to attend. Whatcom County Tourism and the City of Ferndale will be presenting a new tourism project. Information about a Western Washington University hosted town meeting regarding a downtown Ferndale project will also be available. Coffee and pastries will be provided. The Ferndale Downtown Association (FDA) was born of the Ferndale Visioning meetings in 2006. Now they are planning ways to continue promoting the commercial growth of Ferndale through their efforts to attract both businesses and shoppers. Some past, recent and ongoing projects include:
  • Ferndale City-wide Clean Up Day, the FDA’s first project
  • Cleaning and repainting downtown waste containers with a fern motif
  • Installed 15 green benches throughout downtown Ferndale
  • Painted an outside wall of the Ferndale Post Office and installed custom-painted replicas of popular postage stamps
  • Designed and installed dozens of bright blue banners sponsored by local groups and businesses along downtown streets to greet and welcome visitors
  • Hosting the annual Harvest Festival and Pumpkin Games for families in October
FDA is looking to build business and individual membership with those who want to support these efforts and participate in future projects.
