City of Ferndale staff advise to expect potential delays and consider alternate routes as Alder Street between 4th and 3rd Avenues will be closed to through traffic to complete street improvements associated with a private development project. Traffic will be detoured around the work area via Main Street. City staff say the project area on Alder Street will be reopened outside of the project hours. Questions can be directed to the Ferndale Public Works Department at (360) 384-4006.

Ferry refueling occurs on alternate Thursdays. On fueling days there is a double 12pm run from Lummi Island to Gooseberry Point. The 1pm run from Lummi Island to Gooseberry Point is eliminated as well as the 1:10pm run from Gooseberry Point to Lummi Island.

If you love drama and theatre, join us for a week-long summer camp to play theatre games, rehearse Shakespearean scenes, and explore one of Shakespeare's most famous plays. On our final day together we will put on a small showcase performance for family and friends. Register online for this awesome once-a-year experience! Snacks and beverages will be provided. Over 5,800 homeowners have been trained to do their own septic system inspections since classes began in 2009. Click here for details. Pre-registration is required by contacting the health department at (360) 778-6000 and registration is limited to 50 participants. A free, online training is also available for homeowners who wish to be certified.
