FHS Athletes Competing at State Competitions

FHS Golden EaglesFerndale High School Girls’ Basketball, Boys’ Basketball and several wrestlers are competing against other teams and athletes from around the state in post-season competition.

Girls’ Basketball

The FHS Girls’ Basketball team lost a hard-fought game against Glacier Peak last Friday, 78-71, but their hopes of making it to the State Tournament are not lost. They play Shorewood HS tonight at the FHS gym at 7pm (KPUG-1170AM will be broadcasting live).

After Shorewood, they will have two more opponents to play in the Regional Tournament before getting to the State Tournament. Those games will be played on Thursday and Saturday, opponents and locations to be announced.

 

Boys’ Basketball

In a seemingly parallel track as the Girls’ Basketball team, the Boys’ team lost a close game to Marysville-Pilchuck, 56-53, Saturday but also remain in contention for a shot at the State Tournament. They play Edmonds-Woodway Wednesday at the FHS gym at 7pm (KGMI-790AM will be broadcasting live).

After Edmonds-Woodway, there are two more games to win before the State Tournament. These will be played Friday and Saturday, opponents and locations to be announced.

Wrestling

Seven FHS Wrestlers advance to the Class 3A State Tournament after winning performances at the Regional Tournament last Saturday. They are:

    • Broc Graves
    • Devon Bennett
    • Braiden Klimp
    • Taylor Bellefuielle
    • Ben Broselle
    • Sam Cleary
    • Patrick Condon

The FHS Wrestling team took third place overall in the Regional Tournament.

The Class 3A State Tournament will be held at the Tacoma Dome this Friday and Saturday.
