Ferndale High School’s Color Guard and Marching Band competed along with over 30 other high schools from across the state at the Washington State’s largest marching band and field competition. The Auburn Veteran’s Day State Championship was held at the Auburn Memorial Stadium this past Saturday. FHS competed in the “Open Division” for  the largest teams (more than 96 members). Field competition performances are scored on both individual and ensemble performances along with visual and musical effect. FHS swept all categories in the open division to win the division. This is the eighth time this has happened in the past nine years. In addition to the division win, FHS also took honors in more than half of the show awards. Show awards won are

  • Drum Line Captain
  • Best Color Guard
  • Best Marching
  • General Effect
  • Best Music
