National Weather Service forecasters say snow is a good possibility today, tonight and Friday.
While the computer models are not entirely in agreement, forecasters are now saying to expect snowfall in the lowlands after 4pm today and into the evening. The possibility of precipitation during this time is currently forecast to be 60%. Forecasters say they are not expecting to issue an advisory for the northern interior (western Whatcom County) since snow accumulations are forecast to be an inch or less today.
Temperatures are expected to plummet again during Thursday’s clear and dry weather. A system arriving Thursday night will bring a chance of precipitation so Friday’s forecast says the lowlands can expect morning snow as the precipitation mixes with the very cold temperatures. The snow is expected to turn to rain with little or no accumulation expected. Forecasters say a winter weather advisory for the area is possible depending on how things line up.
