The Ferndale Fragrance Garden and Tennant Lake Park boardwalk have been closed since September 11th so repairs on the walkway and the irrigation systems could be made. The closure was expected to last to October 31st.
Today, Whatcom County Parks & Recreation officials announced the Fragrance Garden will remain closed through November 18th. The Tennant Lake boardwalk will remain closed through January 28th due to waterfowl hunting season.
During the Fragrance Garden closure, part of the Fragrance Garden parking lot will remain open but park users are asked to park in the Hovander Homestead Park main parking lot.
Trails between Hovander Homestead Park and Tennant Lake, the river walk and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) boat launch remain open to the public.
