Free bus rides and added WTA service during the NW Washington Fair

The Whatcom Transportation Authority’s (WTA) annual Free Fare Week will be next week according to a recent announcement. It will begin Sunday, August 13th and continue through Saturday, August 19th. During this time, all bus rides, with the exception of Route 80X between Mount Vernon and Bellingham, will be free.

During the Northwest Washington Fair in Lynden WTA also will be a providing a special 10pm bus from the fairgrounds back to Bellingham. The 10pm bus will depart from a bus stop across the street from the fairgrounds located between Bank of the Pacific and Umpqua Bank. It will stop at the WTA Cordata Station and the WTA Downtown Bellingham Station.

In addition to the special 10pm bus, WTA’s Route 26 will provide bus service directly to the fairgrounds from Cordata Station. It will run between 6:20am and 8:20pm on weekdays and between 8:50am and 5:50pm on Saturday.

Riders wishing to park and ride can park for free at WTA’s Cordata Station. Parking is first come, first served and overnight parking is not allowed.
