Great Library and Chamber events for local kids Friday evening

The Ferndale Public Library is hosting The Luigi Lemoncello Scavenger Hunt Friday evening from 6pm to 8:30pm, ending just in time for everyone to then head over to Pioneer Park for the Ferndale Chamber’s ‘Flicks in the Park’ movie night.

According to library staff, the Luigi Lemoncello Scavenger Hunt has not been done at the Ferndale Library before. The evening, for grades 5 through 8, involves an exciting scavenger hunt throughout the library based on the book “Escape From Mr. Lemoncello’s Library” by Chris Grabenstein. Participants can form teams and there will be prizes. Following the scavenger hunt, there will be a pizza party in the meeting room while watching “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.”

Then the gates to Pioneer Park will open at 8:30pm for kids and adults of all ages for ‘Flicks in the Park,’ a free outdoor community movie. Hosted by the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce, there will be free hot dogs & popcorn plus activities before the movie, “Freaky Friday,” begins at dusk. Seating is on the grass so folding chairs and/or blankets are recommended.
