In two announcements today, June 12th, the Ferndale School District let the community know about two more counseling opportunities for those affected by this week’s tragedy near Windward High School.
- Monday through Wednesday, June 15–17: Windward High School will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for students to gather as needed. Support staff and counselors will be available to help as needed.
- Neighbors from the area where the tragedy occurred are invited to a gathering at Windward High School on Tuesday, June 16th, from 4pm to 6pm. This is being done both in gratitude for the assistance the neighbors provided staff and students during the crisis that followed and to recognize the impact the neighborhood has felt. Counselors will be available as needed.
In addition, recognizing that returning to school in the fall may be difficult for some students and staff, the School District says resources and support services will be made available then.
