Head-on crash on Slater Road sends 2 to the hospital

FERNDALE, Wash. — The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office deputy on the scene was still investigating a crash just west of the Elder Road and Slater Road intersection while aid and medic units were transporting 2 patients to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center.

A grey Honda Accord collided head-on with a white Ford Explorer in front of a convenience store and gas station about 4:30pm today, June 5th.

Whatcom County Fire District 7 and a medic unit from Bellingham responded. According to a WCFD7 official at the scene, they transported 1 person via an aid unit with non life-threatening injuries under basic life support protocol (BLS) and another was transported via the medic unit via advance life support protocol (ALS).

This is the second head-on crash on Slater Road in as many days. A head-on crash on Slater Road near LaBounty Drive yesterday sent 1 person to the hospital.
