Winds began picking up late yesterday, Wednesday, morning and continued climbing through the day, into the evening and into the early morning hours according to a weather station near Ferndale High School. This followed an similar windstorm that arrived late Monday and lasted through Tuesday afternoon.
Some gusts were recorded above 60mph between 11pm and 1:30am with the strongest hitting 64.5mph at about 11:25pm. A Wind Advisory remains in effect for western Whatcom County through noon today.
As with the windstorm earlier this week, there were few localized power outages.
A notable outage impacted several dozen Puget Sound Energy customers in the area of Grandview Road between Portal Way and Vista Drive. It was first reported about 10:30pm and PSE reported power had been restored to all impacted by this morning. Trees/vegetation were cited as the cause.

Another strong system will move through the area Friday with high winds possible along the coast. After a little break on Saturday the active weather pattern will resume with additional weather systems reaching the area Sunday through the middle of next week.
