FERNDALE, Wash. — National Weather Service forecasters in the Seattle office have updated the timing and wind strength estimates for a wind storm expected this week.
Yesterday’s High Wind Watch has been upgraded to a High Wind Warning this morning, November 26th and will be in effect between
6am tomorrow, Wednesday 7pm tonight to 6am Thursday.
In addition to the timing change, forecasters warn wind gusts up to 60mph are now possible.
Sustained northeast winds of 25 to 45mph are expected along with the strong gusts due a low pressure system moving inland near the Oregon-California border while a high pressure system builds over northern British Columbia. The difference in air pressure over the region is expected to create strong Fraser Valley outflow winds.
Forecasters warn winds this strong can cause tree damage and localized power outages.

This story was updated to reflect a 3pm updated High Wind Warning that began at 7pm on November 26th instead of 6am November 27th.
