The National Weather Service Seattle office issued a High Wind Watch for late Friday morning through 11pm.
According to the notice, sustained south winds of 20 to 40mph with gusts up to 60mph can be expected throughout Puget Sound including western Whatcom County.
The winds are expected to be accompanied by rains due to a low pressure system passing offshore as described in this earlier story on Discover Ferndale.
