Himalayan salt cave construction nears completion

Flow Motion Owner Alyssa Springs set out a year ago to raise $49,000 in 40 days via a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign to finance the creation of Whatcom County’s first and currently only salt cave. The campaign was successful and since then she has been busy shipping in and preparing products from around the world to be used to build the cave at the Flow Motion facility in the Carnation Oxford Building at 1920 Main Street.

While working hard to cut large blocks of salt for mounting the walls and crushing other blocks for the flooring in time, Springs says she is planning for the first public reveal of her creation on Saturday, May 18th and Sunday May 19th from 11am to 4pm.

According to the Flow Motion website, there will be facility tours including the Himalayan Salt Cave, a Himalayan Salt Sauna and an Amethyst Crystal Cave that weekend along with information provided about Salt Therapy and special membership deals.
