Hours-long power outage planned during power pole replacement project

FERNDALE, Wash. — Puget Sound Energy crews are scheduled to do work to replace power poles and upgrade related electric power equipment that will require cutting the power to a large area in Ferndale.

The outage is scheduled for Wednesday, December 9th, between 9am and 3pm according to Puget Sound Energy. The area impacted by the outage includes neighborhoods west of S Church Road along 1.5 miles of Douglas Road to Barr Road and then south about .5 mile from Douglas Road along Barr Road to Unick Road.

The work is planned near the intersection of Douglas Road and Barr Road and also on Barr Road near Unick Road. Flaggers will be on-site to direct traffic through the work areas.

Residents within the outage area reported receiving notifications via mail from Puget Sound Energy notifying them of the planned outage event.
