Whatcom County Fire District 7 Division Chief Ben Boyko said getting to the driver of the vehicle down the embankment required setting ladders down to the vehicle and using chainsaws to clear the brush. That patient was transported to PeaceHealth St Joseph Medical Center as a precaution with non-life-threatening injuries. Boyko said the motorcyclist was transported to PeaceHealth in serious condition.
