The assistant coordinator will work with the current garden coordinator to keep the garden on track through-out the year.  The volunteer position will involve interaction with individuals from a variety of cultures and life experiences, community volunteer organizations, a garden advisory group and the Ferndale community in general.

Ferndale Friendship Community Garden (FFCG) has been a successful community garden in Ferndale since 2008. The garden is located near Pioneer Park and the new Star Park and it is part of the City of Ferndale Parks system. FFCG has 26 outside plots and 10 hoop house plots available to rent.

A large area of the garden is dedicated to growing produce for the Ferndale Food Bank. In 2018, the garden donated over 5,000 pounds of restaurant quality food to the Ferndale Food Bank.

There are grape vines, apple trees, an herb garden, strawberry bed and open areas for growing crops such as melons and squashes. The garden uses organic gardening methods, supplies tools, seeds and enthusiastic gardeners.
