Great communities are known for having great schools. As an advocate for business and an advocate for our community, the Ferndale Chamber knows this and is committed to supporting opportunities to invest in our community’s future.
People choose to live in cities with amazing schools that have great athletics, arts, and overall education because it gives their children a chance to achieve and learn in healthy environments. Ferndale has all of these things except the facility.
The Ferndale Chamber of Commerce is focused on doing its part by bridging commerce and community. One such example is through the Ferndale Futures Program, a partnership with the Ferndale School District that aligns opportunities and pathways to careers that don’t require a four-year degree.
As a community, Ferndale has much to be proud of, and we should be willing to incur the collective risk to ensure a prosperous future of the City; not just for our schools, but for our community as a whole. With critical needs and security upgrades at all the schools, in addition to a new high school facility, we would be taking that first step.
As an example, when the new library was built, there was a marked increase in monthly visitors. It wasn’t because it had new books or different people. It was because it was a better facility in which people were excited to utilize. It built a new-found pride in our library, and it is a vibrant community destination.
The Ferndale Chamber sees this investment as one that will increase the economic vitality of the community for the future of Ferndale.
