Letter to the Editor: Supports Hansen for mayor

- advertisement -Click for more information

As seniors living on fixed incomes, it will difficult to budget all the new tax increases proposed by the current mayor. Ferndale citizens are about to experience the highest tax and rate increases in it’s history. We need a Mayor that will make the difficult decisions for the tax payer. That is why we are supporting Greg Hansen for Mayor.

We need a Mayor who will lead and direct the staff. We currently have an “I need; I want and a give me” attitude within the City administration. We do not need a new City Hall. We need to take the rooms of files and scan the files and free up space for staff. We do need a new Court House. The City of Blaine is a great example of how to bring our antiquated court system into the future.

We need to collect on the past penalties from offenders which is somewhere between $6 and $8 million. It has been explained to us that the fines cannot be collected because there is not a City of Ferndale staff member available on-site on court day to collect the fines. The offender receives a fine and walks right out the door and does not go up to our Police Station to pay their fine. This is unacceptable.

Greg Hansen will bring a whole new attitude of leadership to our City. Please vote for Greg Hansen for Mayor.

  1. I have a lot of support but I have also disagreements about. I NEVER WANT MUTCHLER to be Mayor again.

  2. PS. SSDD. The City and Council has to blame yet not to blame for lack of employment for the Court House. You guys treat them like a Redheaded Stepchild or Cinderella in the luck or recognition in funds. “We need to collect on the past penalties from offenders which is somewhere between $6 and $8 million. Yes, it would be nice to get those collections back from a person in jail or died in jail that has no money by all means spend City taxpayers dollars extra to do that. You are talking about something you do not know or even come close to. Hiring someone fo scan documents and digitalize them would be nice but the previous court clerk did a PT job FT. So maybe they should look into who you hire than the City intervening when they have no jurisdiction. Two, look again into you’re own head department staff that said not replaceable? One told an employee to lie to the public about an RCW Code. City is waiting a lawsuit waiting to happen.
