Local employers advise students about workforce needs over lunch

Ferndale School District in partnership with the Ferndale Chamber of Commerce will be holding the second of their “Lunch with Leaders” series tomorrow, March 26th, at the Pioneer Pavilion Community Center. Organizers say the lunches serve to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to be competitive in local and global markets.

Tomorrow’s lunch will be attended by local employers Alcoa Intalco Works, The Timken Company, Samson Rope Technologies, Healthy Pet and NorthStar WoodWorks.

The first of the “Lunch with Leaders” events was was held October 30th last year.  Local employers Les Schwab, Gitts Auto Body, Feller HVAC, Gary’s Plumbing and Lynden Door attended to speak with students about career development and job shadow opportunities.
