Main Street, between 1st Avenue and 3rd Avenue, will be closed for trick-or-treating with downtown merchants from 3pm to 5pm on Saturday, October 26th.
Ferndale Chamber of Commerce officials say they expect thousands of ghouls, goblins, superheroes and more to converge on downtown Ferndale for the annual trick-or-treat event.
In concert with the Main Street event, businesses in the Carnation Oxford Building, located east of the downtown area at 1920 Main Street, will also be prepared for trick-or-treaters on Saturday at the same time.
Following the Downtown Trick-or-Treat, a free all-ages interactive mystery is planned in Pioneer Park from 5pm to 7pm. Mystery in the Park participants will search for clues at a crime scene, interview suspects and vote on who is the guilty party. This is being put on by the City of Ferndale.
Also happening in Pioneer Park will be the Whatcom Frightmare Haunted House in the Barr Barn. That begins Friday, October 25th, from 5pm to 10pm. A “light scare” will be offered from 5pm to 7pm Saturday during the Mystery in the Park event with a return to “full scare” from 7pm to 10pm Saturday.
