Man wanted by WCSO in child abuse case captured in Oregon

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) said Tuesday, July 14th, a warrant had been issued and they were actively looking for Joshua Klippenstein regarding his involvement in the assault of a child.

Today, Thursday, July 16th, WCSO officials reported Klippenstein had been captured and taken into custody in the Portland, Oregon area.

According to an affidavit of probable cause prepared by WCSO and filed in Whatcom County Superior Court, Klippenstein, age 28, is suspected in the abuse of a 3-year-old child in the 5800 block of Milwaukee Road in Bellingham. He has been charged with suspicion of 2nd degree assault of a child and 2nd degree abandonment of a dependent, both felony crimes.
