Many Ferndale businesses plan to curtail operations to help build Star Park

star park sm grfxAccording to city staff, there still remains a big need for people to sign up to join the volunteer effort that will be out in what is forecast to be unseasonably warm weather to build large playground structures adjacent to the parking lot south of Pioneer Park. The structure is planned to be called “Star Park.”

But also according to city staff, several local businesses and organizations have made commitments in very big ways. For some it will be to feed the hundreds of volunteers and for others they will be enabling employees to leave work to be part of the community effort.

In addition to the lengthy list of donors previously published here, it should be noted the following are providing meal services:

Dickey’s Barbecue Pit
Ferndale Kiwanis
Silver Reef Catering
Kelly’s O’Deli Catering
Chihuahuas Family Mexican Restaurant
United Church of Ferndale
Cornerstone Community Church
Coconut Kenny’s
Whatcom New Life Assembly
Little Caesars
