Whatcom County Public Works announced today they will begin work July 6th to widen the roadway and add left turn lanes on Slater Road at the intersections of Imhof and Ferndale Roads. Expect delays as project will require reducing traffic to a single lane and implementing a 25MPH zone through the project site.
Work has already begun to paint and make upgrades on the Nooksack River bridge a littler further down the road on Slater Road. It will continue with a reduced speed zone through that project site as well.
Both projects are expected to be completed in September 2015.
Using alternate routes if possible is recommended.
