Nearby: Bellingham Police seek help in identifying bank robbery suspect

According to Whatcom Education Credit Union (WECU) officials, their Sunset branch, located at 3061 Orleans Street in Bellingham, was robbed today, March 2nd.

Bellingham Police say the robbery occurred after 11:20am this morning. The suspect is described as a white male in his mid- to late-20s, approximately 5-feet and 5-inches tall, of average build and wearing glasses, a black baseball cap, black baggy pants and a Seahawks sweatshirt.

Police said the suspect walked in and demanded cash and no weapon was used. The suspect then fled southbound on foot.

Bellingham Police ask that anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect contact them in any of the following ways:

DO NOT approach the suspect, call 9-1-1 immediately if seen.

WECU officials say the drive up window remained open, but the lobby was closed for the remainder of the day after the robbery.
